Leaders of the Pack is a growing company that thrives on building partnerships within our community. Center to its mission is to provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities to share their gifts and abilities with businesses.

who we are

Beth Benevides and Alisa Chernack, Esq., established Leaders of the Pack in order to create employment opportunities and pre-employment learning experiences for adults with developmental disabilities. Recognizing the need to thoughtfully match a person’s abilities and interests with specific projects, Beth and Alisa hand-pick the staff, consisting of employees with and without disabilities, the job coaches, and production supervisors. They also mindfully seek out business partners in order to ensure success and long-term opportunities. Beth and Alisa are mothers with autistic sons. Their passion to support their sons’ dreams is, in turn, making many others’ dreams possible.

MEET KYLe

Hi, I’m Kyle!

When I go to work I always say, ‘Gotta help!’ Helping others is important to me.

I’m thrilled to be Chief Leader of the Pack. I am 24, autistic, and love to keep busy. I help with packaging materials for many different projects and have helped amazing organizations, such as MyPreK-Box, Bridges for Housing Stability, The Maryland Department of Disabilities, the Howard County Public School System, Amanda Heflin of Keller Williams, and the Hussman Institute for Autism.

“Kyle Hill has been volunteering at Bridges to Housing Stability for about 16 months. He comes in every Monday happy and ready to help! Kyle has done everything from shredding documents, putting together files, and decorating our office every season. Kyle is always happy to help in any way that he can. We love having him here and are so excited to see what he does in the future!”

- Chrissy Wilson, Volunteer Coordinator, Bridges to Housing Stability

MEET DANIEL

Hi, I'm Daniel!

I love to work and meet new people. I enjoy stocking items, grocery shopping, and packing gift bags. I use my iPad (and a big smile!) to communicate. I'm an easy-going autistic young adult who enjoys going to the beach--my very favorite place! I live with my mom, brother, and our rescue dog named Rex. It makes my day to take care of Rex and feed him his favorite treats.

Rave Reviews

“My business requires a lot of prepping, counting, and boxing of materials. These tasks require great attention to detail. It is imperative that there are no mistakes and that everything is clean, organized, and presented well to the consumer. Kyle has been consistently working on these tasks (labeling boxes, counting, sorting, and bagging materials). Communication is excellent and projects come back completed with precision. As a business owner, it can be difficult to relinquish and off-source tasks for fear that they may not be completed correctly. With Kyle from Leaders of the Pack, I am always confident that my projects and business will be treated with pride. Kyle's work has been a huge asset to my company and I would highly recommend Leaders of the Pack to other business owners!”

- Lindsey Eder, Owner, My Pre-K Box

“I highly recommend Kyle’s services! He supported our Department’s efforts to create and distribute over 50 binders of training materials for police departments and law enforcement academies on how to appropriately and effectively interact with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The project entailed the organizing and labeling of close to 100 pages per binder with many subdivisions within them. With so many competing priorities demanding my time and attention, it was such a relief to be able to rely on Kyle’s skill set to get the job done perfectly, consistently, and with a quick turnaround time!“

- Jennifer Eastman, Maryland Department of Disabilities

“Kyle has been a tremendous help to the HCPSS Partnerships Office. He prepared our “thank you” notecards so that they are ready for use. The project included sorting and collating 4 different notecards and envelopes, inserting them into an outer envelope, sealing the envelope, and packing the packaged cards in a storage box. The pick-up and delivery of the project were easy. We appreciate Kyle’s quality work and look forward to more opportunities.”

- Mary Schiller, HCPSS Partnership Office

Assembly required. It’s what we do.
